  • Supreme Court has directed the Central government to complete the process of reappointment of members of National Company Law Tribunal and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal at the earliest, and not later than two months. In respect of the process to initiate for filling up the existing vacancies for which a search cum selection committee has to be constituted, the Court has directed the selection process to be initiated at the earliest.

  • Delhi High Court has quashed two orders issued by the Delhi Government dated 18th April and 28th August 2020 restraining private schools from collecting Annual Charges and Development Fees from students amid Covid 19 lockdown.

  • Delhi High Court has warned the North Delhi Municipal Corporation of attachment of its properties for its failure to pay salaries and pensions to employees in the wake of Covid 19 pandemic. The Court has directed the Chairman of NDMC to disclose details, under his own affidavit, of all immovable and movable properties along with their estimated value in particular of the bank accounts held by NDMC with banks and financial institutions and the amount held therein till July 1, 2021.
  • Bombay High Court has ordered an inquiry into the alleged illegal detention of a 37-year-old lawyer from Mumbai. The Court has also transferred the kidnapping and extortion case against the advocate from the Kharghar police station in Navi Mumbai to the Maharashtra CID.

  • Allahabad High Court has granted bail to a man booked under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religion Conversion Act, 2020 who has been accused of committing rape upon the victim in a room of a hotel, noting that the victim is a major and had a consenting relationship with the accused.

  • Madras High Court has requested Advocate General R. Shunmugasundaram to arrange for an inspection of Renault-Nissan automobile manufacturing unit at Oragadam near Chennai, by a senior official from Directorate of Industrial Safety to ascertain whether all necessary COVID-19 protocols had been followed and to mediate between the management and the workers, if necessary.

  • Madras High Court has observed that it is necessary to vaccinate all, since those who are not vaccinated may be a risk to the others. The Court has stated that all Municipal Corporations and Municipalities shall take the initiative to ensure that all homeless persons, pavement dwellers and others who may not have any registration or other documents are administered the vaccine upon assessing their health conditions.

  • Karnataka High Court has directed the State government to ensure that all efforts are made for proper implementation of the Shuchi scheme, observing that the State health department is focusing its attention on various aspects of Covid-19 (second wave) but should not ignore the distribution of sanitary napkins to adolescent school girls.

  • Karnataka High Court has directed the government to prepare a road map for imparting education to children in the event if physical opening of school is not possible during the upcoming academic year, either for whole year or part of the said year, for ensuring that children remain within the umbrella of education systems.

  • Kerala High Court has directed the State government to revisit its decision to give C.K. Baiju, Director-in-Charge of the Mining and Geology Department, who is facing a corruption charge, the additional charge of Executive Director, Kerala Mineral and Metals Limited (KMML).
