  • Delhi High Court has directed ‘TheCognate’ to block the tweet in the form of infographic and other social media posts made against India Today News Channel alleging to show that there has been a contrasting and biased approach in its reporting against Muslim community concerning COVID protocol violations relating to religious gatherings at Kumbh Mela and Mecca Masjid.
  • Delhi High Court issued the notice to the Government in a Plea file by Solar Power Developers Association assailing the initiation of an anti-dumping probe on imports of solar cells exported from China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • Delhi High Court has issued notice and sought replies from Facebook Inc and its subsidiary, Instagram, on a petition objecting to the publication of “highly obnoxious and objectionable posts” on Hindu goddesses on Instagram by a user.
  • Karnataka High Court has held that a senior citizen cannot invoke Section 23 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, when the release of property was not out of natural love and affection but for a consideration.
  • Allahabad High Court has held that a complaint for dishonour of cheque under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, cannot be dismissed merely because it does not mention the date on which the demand notice was served upon the alleged defaulter/ drawer. The complaint, however, must contain basic facts regarding the mode and manner of the issuance of notice to the drawer of the cheque.
  • Madras High Court has said that the State should consider whether all applicants who have applied to the Transgender Board in the State by May 31, 2021 (and not beyond) may be considered as transgenders for the purpose of obtaining the benefit announced by the State.
  • Karnataka High Court has refused to entertain a petition filed by a social activist seeking directions to the authorities to ensure that Commercial Complexes (Malls) do not collect parking fee/charges from their customers/visitors, allowing the counsel to withdraw the petition.
  • Kerala High Court has set aside conviction and sentence passed against the accused in a matter of matricide and double filicide, on the ground that the Investigation Officer did not subject her to medical examination immediately to determine the soundness of the mind of the accused.
  • Telangana High Court has directed Telangana State Public Service Commission Chairman B. Janardhan Reddy, who earlier worked as School Education Principal Secretary and present School Education Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania to appear before it on 16th June, 2021 in a contempt of court case.
  • Andhra Pradesh High Court has struck down Government Orders through which Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju was appointed as the hereditary trustee/chairperson of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Vari Devasthanam at Simhachalam and the MANSAS (Maharaja Alak Narayan Society of Arts & Science) Trust respectively, and ordered that P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju be reinstated as chairman of both the trusts.
